They refused to take ownership or pay for the costs of reinstatement - despite the pegs being removed during the build process whilst they had the site under their control and were carrying out work. Costs of reinstatement are between $1,200 plus GST up to $2,800 plus - depending on what needs to be done. My pegs were removed and they have not been accommodating to my request for reinstatement and simply deny any liability - despite the pegs being moved whilst the site was under their possession or control. This is a large expense to reinstate pegs that should not have to be incurred due to the pegs being interfered with/moved during the build process. Then out on site we had great communication with our construction CSC and our site supervisor. Hi En D, Clarendon arrange an Interim Occupation Certificate so that you may move into your home after Handover. A Final Occupation Certificate must be arranged by the homeowner from the Certifier or Council who approved your home once landscaping works, including driveways are completed by the homeowner after handover. You need to visit domainehomes.com.au to see the design, and then make sure you select either NSW or QLD as there are small differences. We have just completed handover with Clarendon after building a Boston. The end result is stunning and we are very happy with the care, quality and oversight of our site manager who kept us informed every step of the way. Although the build was a fairly smooth experience, there were quite a few minor defects pending after handover. Was assigned to us after the 90 day warranty period to look after the pending defects. I met in April and immediately knew that he was going to take care of all the pending defects. He understood what was important to us and promptly fixed the critical issues in quick time and the rest were fixed at a slightly slower pace, but I didn't have to make any follow ups.
Highly recommend Clarendon so far from our experience with our first build. Pressure obviously applied through promotional periods but price always seems to net out about the same. The cycle time is just far toooo long to come to the contract stage, and could be a reason for us to look elsewhere, which would be a shame. That's more being spent on concrete underground than the cheaper Waffle Pod Slab on top. I'm not familiar with the building industry but I am familiar with commercial contracts and I know when I'm being taken for a ride. The list of inconsistencies and contradictions in Clarendon's quote is mind boggling. None of the changes we wanted on the property were not included. I highly doubt that there is a single Clarendon property built that doesn't included at least $15k+ for piering.
